Why this tool exists

Most FAQ schema tools are selling you something Google discontinued

Here is what the other FAQ schema generators on this page of Google won’t tell you: Google retired FAQ rich results for almost every website in August 2023. Unless you run a government or health authority site, marking up your FAQs no longer gets you those expanded Q&A dropdowns in search results. Tools still promising “rich snippets!” are describing 2022.

So why does this tool exist?

Because the reason to mark up FAQs changed — it didn’t disappear. In 2026, the readers that matter are answer engines: ChatGPT with search, Perplexity, Gemini, Google’s AI Overviews. They don’t show rich snippets. They do something more valuable — they lift answers out of pages and repeat them to buyers. Structured Q&A is among the easiest content for them to lift accurately: the question states the intent, the answer is self-contained, and JSON-LD removes the guesswork about where one answer ends and the next begins.

What makes an answer quotable by an AI engine

Marking up weak answers gets you accurately-quoted weak answers. Before you generate, tighten each pair against these:

01

The answer’s first sentence must stand alone

Answer engines routinely quote one sentence. If yours starts with “As mentioned above…”, the quote fails.

02

40–80 words per answer

Long enough to be complete, short enough to be liftable whole.

03

The question should be the words a customer actually types

Not your internal phrasing. “How long does termite treatment last?” beats “Treatment longevity.”

04

Numbers, timeframes and specifics survive quoting; vague reassurance doesn’t

“Most orders ship within 2 business days” is quotable. “We pride ourselves on fast shipping” is filler.

How to use the output

  1. Add the generated <script type="application/ld+json"> block to the page that shows these FAQs — same page, not a hub.
  2. Keep page text and markup identical. When you edit one, regenerate the other.
  3. One FAQPage block per page. Multiple blocks on one URL confuse parsers and gain nothing.

The rule most FAQ markup gets wrong

FAQPage schema describes content visible on your page. Schema stuffed with questions that appear nowhere in the page body is the single most common FAQ markup mistake — and it’s the kind of mismatch that erodes trust with every system that compares your markup to your rendered page. The rule: one source of truth. Write the FAQs once, render them on the page, and generate the markup from the same list. That’s how this generator is meant to be used — paste the Q&As you actually publish, not the ones you wish you ranked for.

Limitations, stated plainly

This tool validates structure, not truth — it cannot check that answers appear in your visible page, and it won’t warn you if the answers are wrong. It generates FAQPage only (Product, Organization and Article have their own generators, linked below). And no schema markup, from any tool, guarantees appearing in any AI answer — anyone promising that is selling weather control.

Fair questions.

The same five answers feed this page’s own FAQPage markup — one array, one source.

Does FAQ schema still help SEO in 2026?

Not the way older guides claim. Google retired FAQ rich results for most sites in August 2023, so the classic benefit is gone. The current value is machine readability: answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini parse structured Q&A more reliably than prose, which improves the odds that when they quote you, they quote you accurately.

Do the FAQs need to be visible on my page?

Yes. FAQPage schema is a machine-readable description of visible content, not a place to add extra keywords. Markup describing text that isn’t on the page is the most common FAQ schema mistake and can undermine trust in the rest of your markup.

Where does my data go when I use this generator?

Nowhere. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the questions and answers you type are never sent to a server. (That’s checkable: open your browser’s network tab while using it.)

How many FAQs should one page have?

As many as genuinely get asked — typically 4 to 8. Past that, split by topic onto the pages where each question naturally belongs; answer engines associate the Q&A with the page’s subject.

Does this work for ChatGPT and Perplexity, or just Google?

The output is standard schema.org JSON-LD, which is engine-neutral. Any system that parses structured data — search engines and AI answer engines alike — can read it. Whether a given engine uses it in a given answer is the engine’s call; no tool controls that.
